Students with a degree not obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community

Students who did not obtain their previous degree(s) at an institution of the Flemish Community should submit an application via the Admissions Office: https://www.kuleuven.be/english/application/.

Diploma requirements

This programme is open to any applicant holding an academic bachelor's degree in engineering (bioscience engineering, agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, or any equivalent engineering degree), and to applicants holding other bachelor's or master's degrees encompassing thorough coursework in mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, and basic engineering courses; and at least one of the following two domains (i) Earth and environmental sciences, and (ii) biology and ecology. This degree should be obtained at a recognized university, college or institute, with an end result of at least second class upper or equivalent.

Language requirements

All applicants who have not obtained a previous diploma in a programme taught in English in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America must submit a certificate proving their proficiency in English. All applicants need to meet the minimum language requirements of KU Leuven. In addition, they need to have obtained minimum scores of at least 18/30 (TOEFL iBT), 6/9 (IELTS Academic) or 170 (CAE/CPE) on each of the components tested (reading, writing, speaking, listening). More information about English proficiency tests can be found on http://www.kuleuven.be/english/admissions/lang/lang-test.

Applicants who have obtained a diploma of secondary education in the Flemish Community, are exempted from an English proficiency test.
