Students with a degree obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community

After an abridged programme

On the basis of the following degrees, or similar degrees, obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

  • After successfully completing the abridged programme: Master in de farmaceutische zorg (na toelating) ( Leuven, 58 sp. ) , the following degrees are accepted:
    • Master in de geneesmiddelenontwikkeling (na toelating) (Leuven)
  • After successfully completing the abridged programme: Master in de psychologie (na toelating) ( Leuven, 60 sp. ) , the following degrees are accepted:
    • Master in de psychologie (Leuven)
    • Master of Psychology: Theory and Research (na toelating) (Leuven)


Students with a degree not obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community

Students who did not obtain their previous degree(s) at an institution of the Flemish Community should submit an application via the Admissions Office: https://www.kuleuven.be/english/application/.

Diploma requirements

Only holders of a master's degree will be accepted to the programme.

Language requirements

All applicants must prove their proficiency in English. The accepted English proficiency tests are:
-  TOEFL: minimum overall score of 92 (internet-based), 580 (paper-based) or 237 (computer- based).
-  IELTS Academic: minimum overall score of 6.5

The following applicants are exempted from submitting an English proficiency certificate:
-  Applicants who have obtained a previous diploma (secondary or higher education) taught in English in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America;
-  Applicants whose previous studies were successfully completed in English.

Additional information

The admission policy is intended to ensure equal access to higher education for qualified European and non-European students. The programme will assess student applications individually on the basis of their previous academic record, their experience in the field of health care and their letter of motivation. Some students may be asked to complete a (telephone) interview.

Admission decisions are based upon evaluation of a complete application file.
