Direct access does not apply to Bachelor in de ingenieurswetenschappen obtained at the Koninklijke Militaire School and the Bachelor in de ingenieurswetenschappen: architectuur. These students are admitted to the Preparatory Programme: Master of International Business.
After a preparatory programme
All academic bachelor's/master's degrees obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community which do not have direct access to the Master of International Business.

Diploma requirements
An academic bachelor's/master's degree in a field different from business economics and/or management.Language requirements
Applicants must prove their English language proficiency by means of a IELTS Academic or TOEFL test. The minimum score for IELTS is 7, for the TOEFL internet based test it is 94. The minimum sub-scores are 20 out of 30 for the TOEFL results and 6.5 for the IELTS results. Applicants who obtained an IELTS of 6.5 (minimum sub-scores 6.0) or a TOEFL of 90 (minimum sub-scores 20 out of 30) and have afterwards completed at least 1 year of full-time study in higher education in the English language, may also be considered for admission.Candidates who obtained the CPE Certificate or the CAE Certificate with a minimum overall score of 180 meet the requirement of the English language proficiency as well. An exemption from the proof of English proficiency by means of the above-mentioned tests is possible for applicants with a secondary education degree or a higher education degree earned in Australia, English speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the USA: the degree and transcripts suffice, provided they confirm that the entire study was completed in English.
Students who completed their studies in a satellite campus which is located in another country than the main campus of the university are not eligible for an exemption from the English language proficiency certificate.
Students with a Flemish secondary education diploma and/or a Flemish academic bachelor/master degree are also exempted from the English language requirement.
Additional requirements
A GMAT/GRE-test result is to be included in the application. For the GMAT (old version) a minimum overall score of 600 is required. For the GMAT (new version) a minimum overall score of 565 is required. Alternatively, a GRE can be submitted with a minimum score of 153 on verbal reasoning and 158 on quantitative reasoning.Students with an academic bachelor/master degree from a Belgian university are exempted from the GMAT/GRE requirement. Students who completed an exchange programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business and obtained good results can be potentially exempted as well; they need to contact the faculty and request a waiver based on their transcript of records.
Applicants are advised to upload in their application course descriptions for relevant courses they have followed during their prior academic studies. For each relevant course you completed during your previous studies, you should provide a brief description of the course objectives, the main topics treated, the workload per course unit and the course materials used. If your university provides these descriptions online or via a syllabus, you can copy-paste these descriptions. Accepted languages are English, French, German and Dutch.

All applications are evaluated by both KU Leuven admissions office and the relevant programme directors. Admission is ultimately at the discretion of the faculty. Please note that evaluation of applications is based on complete files only and that the criteria published are basic (eligibility) criteria only. Students take the 48 credits from the Core Module (including the 15 credits from the master's thesis). Furthermore, students choose either 'Track 1: International Business' or 'Track 2: Quantitative Methods for Business Administration' depending on whether or not they wish to register for the Preparatory Programme: Master of Business Administration after the Master of International Business.

The Master's Thesis MIB consists of two parts: 'Master's Thesis: Literature Review (6 ECTS)' and 'Master's Thesis: Research Project International Business (9 ECTS)'. Track 1 International Business: Electives
Students select 6 ECTS out of this group, with attention to the following remarks:
- - 'International Study Visit: Toulouse' and 'Study Visit: Brussels and the European Union': these electives cannot be combined.
- - The number of participants for the following courses is limited: 'International Study Visit: Toulouse' and 'Study Visit: Brussels and the European Union'. Due to this limited number a selection is organised in the first semester. The selection procedure, cost, method and time of payment will be explained on Toledo and in an information session at the start of the academic year.
- - 'Short Mobility Economics and Business', 'Internship Project (master)' and 'Interdisciplinary Assessment Project': students are advised to take these electives at the end of the programme. Please contact your Study Career Consultant to discuss your individual study programme.
Students who want to valorize an experience in their programme, can select the following courses, with a maximum of one course per group:- - A summer school: 'Short Mobility Economics and Business (Broadening masters)'
