Students with a degree obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community

Direct

On the basis of the following degrees, or similar degrees, obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

  • Bachelor in de taal- en letterkunde (Kortrijk)
  • Bachelor in de taal- en letterkunde (Leuven)

Additional information

Applicants are requested to submit a file containing the following information:

1) Transcripts of their academic bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, showing that that the degrees(s) in question provided them with a sufficient background in literary studies (with a focus on at least one national literature).

2) A motivation letter.

3) Proof of English language proficiency showing an IELTS aggregate score of at least 7,5 (including no score under 6.5) or a TOEFL aggregate score of at least 102 (including no score under 92).
CAE or CPE certificates are also evidence of the level of proficiency required for the programme, provided that no individual score (Reading, Use of English, Writing, Listening, Speaking) is below 180.
Applicants who hold a degree awarded by an English-speaking university from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the United States are exempt from this requirement.

4) A sample of written academic work (e.g. term paper in a relevant subject, BA thesis, ...)

Applicants with a Bachelor degree from a Flemish university (KU Leuven or other) can send their file directly to the programme director.



Students with a degree not obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community

Students who did not obtain their previous degree(s) at an institution of the Flemish Community should submit an application via the Admissions Office: https://www.kuleuven.be/english/application/.

Diploma requirements

Applicants for this programme are expected to hold an academic bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, providing them with a sufficient background in literary studies (with a focus on at least one national literature).
