After admission procedure

Candidates should apply directly with the programme. The following required documents can be send to mahs-mausp@kuleuven.be:
-  Portfolio (applicable for architecture students)

-  Motivation letter
-  Diploma and transcript of records
-  Recommendation letters if possible

On the basis of the following degrees, or similar degrees, obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

  • Master in de architectuur (Brussel, Gent)
  • Master in de ingenieurswetenschappen: architectuur (Leuven)
  • Master in de stedenbouw en de ruimtelijke planning (Brussel, Gent)
  • Master of Architecture (Brussel, Gent)
  • Master of Human Settlements (Leuven)


Students with a degree not obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community

Students who did not obtain their previous degree(s) at an institution of the Flemish Community should submit an application via the Admissions Office: https://www.kuleuven.be/english/application/.

Diploma requirements

Students obtained a professional degree (with a minimum of 4 years, preferably 5 years of study) in the fields of architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture and other allied fields
Architecture
Engineering: architecture
Landscape architecture
Spatial planning
Urban planning / design

A graduate (with minimum 5 years of university education) in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban or Physical Planning with a good academic record (normal level of 70 %, of GPA 2.8/3.0, second class upper). The relevance of the academic record will be compared for each university and/or country of origin.

Language requirements

All applicants must prove their proficiency in English. The accepted English proficiency tests are:
-  TOEFL: Computer-based test 213 pt., Internet-based test 79 pt., Paper-based test 550 pt.
-  IELTS: 6.5 pt.
-  Cambridge CAE or CPE tests

Applicants who have obtained a previous diploma in a programme taught in English in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America are exempted from submitting an English proficiency test.

Additional requirements

-  A letter of motivation and, if possible, a portfolio which clearly demonstrates sound professional intentions and relevant experience.
-   GRE test results: Students applying to this programme are exempted from submitting GRE scores, but it might still be considered as an asset.

Additional information

Applicants with some years of relevant professional experience will be preferred.
