Aims
“The aim of this course is to provide a thorough understanding of the state of play of EC banking and investment services law. We will discuss the extent to which financial institutions, products and services are subject to EC legislation. Although closely intertwined with public law aspects of financial regulation, the focus of this course will be on the private law relationship between the financial institution and its clients. Students will be introduced to the content of the rules on credit services, payment services and investment services. We will further examine the ultimate goals of the relevant rules and make a cross section of the different financial services in order to uncover regulatory patterns.”
