Aims
Upon completion of this course unit, the student will have achieved the following objectives:
- The student is able to design a qualitative research project;
- The student is able to conduct the various components of a qualitative research cycle;
- The student is able to collect, code and analyze qualitative data;
- The student can report on the research conducted, using correct, scientific language;
- The student can assess the ethical dimension of qualitative research.
These objectives are communicated to students at the start of the course.

Content
This OLA builds on insights and knowledge students have acquired within the OLA Kwalitatieve onderzoeksmethoden: theorie. In this OLA, students engage with the qualitative research cycle . Throughout this learning activity we explore at least three phases of the research cycle in the form of an interactive practicum; 1. determining clear qualitative research questions revolving around a media research topic, 2. preparation and execution of qualitative data collection, and 3. data analysis.
