This course evaluates the following learning outcomes:

The student

1.1 Uses high quality interventions and relational practices between the members of a team or a group for improving ongoing operations, using advanced understanding of and insights in the 'how' of learning and changing.

1.2 Enacts a helping attitude towards relevant stakeholders in ambiguous situations, in order to foster a sense of joint psychological ownership of an ongoing process of innovation, development, change.

1.5 Demonstrates interpersonal leadership skills for effectively facilitating change in organizations.

2.5 Demonstrates contextual intelligence behaviour in practicing leadership skills, in order to reach the full leadership potential in a continuously changing environment.

3.2 Approaches continuous change inside and outside the organization as a relational learning process, and designs interventions for learning in groups and organizations, for co-creating sustainable organizational development, taking into account the environmental complexity and dynamism in the specific business context.

4.2 Shows understanding of the importance of organisational change and the quality of work in the current rapidly evolving economy and society, and therefore contributes to a work environment in which human capital is used, valued and developed in the best possible way.

7.1 Takes on a diplomatic and honest position and can reach an agreement that takes into account the interest of all parties involved through negotiation and mediation.

8.4 Takes responsibility for his/her role in the team and carries out his/her part of the project on time.

8.6 Participates constructively in meetings with the team and with others who are involved in the project.

11.1 Is aware of the rapidly evolving knowledge society that he/she will enter and therefore understands the need for maintenance and improvement of acquired knowledge, skills and competences and acquisition of new knowledge, skills and competences.

11.2 Is willing to improve his/her knowledge, skills and competences in order to shape his/her life professionally, personally, socially and civilly.

11.3 Actively looks for opportunities to broaden and deepen his/her knowledge, skills and competences, in order to anticipate the (evolving) requirements of the work environment.

 

1. Integrating, applying and comparing insights and theories in the field of Organisational Learning and Development.

2. Taking a relational perspective on organisational change and development: this implies understanding the process (with whom and how?) and the contextual features.

3. Taking the viewpoint of academics AND practitioners facing organisational challenges for learning and development.

4. Interpreting scientific findings in the field and connecting them to complex situations in the field of change and development 

5. Constructive team-work and discussing/presenting in teams

6. Self-reflection and developing empathic skills

7. Dealing with ambiguous situations (in the field)

Foundations of Organisational Behaviour are supposed to be known

This course cannot be combined with the course "Strategy: change and implementation (HMA67A)"

Evaluation

Evaluation: Organisational Development and Leadership (B-KUL-H75071)

Type : Partial or continuous assessment with (final) exam during the examination period
Description of evaluation : Written, Report
Type of questions : Multiple choice, Open questions


Determination final result

The grades are determined by the lecturer as communicated via Toledo and stated in the examination schedule. The result is calculated and communicated as a whole number on a scale of 20.

 

Second exam opportunity

The features of the evaluation and determination of grades are identical to those of the first examination opportunity, as described above.
