Acquiring strong insights in the dynamics between product/customer/market and the operational process.

  • Learning to analyze an assignment, translate it into an applied research question, develop scientifically sound solutions to this research question including using and referring to scientific literature (using APA) and critical reflection during the whole process.
  • Learning to function in a project team and to communicate with team members and entrepreneurs. Learning to give and receive (each other’s) feedback. Presenting the project results to the company.

In terms of content, digital material is made available to gain more insight into the product/market/customer combination.

The company project is the substance of this course and consists of the following steps:

  • general kick-off
  • introductory session with the project company
  • first analysis of the problem
  • writing an applied research question
  • finding possible solutions
  • proving the solutions in collaboration with the project company
  • choosing and substantiating the definitive solution
  • writing a paper
  • building a presentation.

The project is accompanied by several intervisions with an FEB coach, where ad hoc missing knowledge, specific for the project, is applied.

Digital material will be made available via Toledo.

Evaluation

Evaluation: Business Project (B-KUL-H75218)

Type : Continuous assessment without exam during the examination period
Description of evaluation : Paper/Project, Presentation, Self assessment/Peer assessment, Participation during contact hours, Process evaluation

Evaluation caracteristics

  • paper:                      70% = 35% - FEB-coach and 35% - Company coach (group score)
  • presentation:           20% - FEB-coach (individual score)
  • attitude/Process:     10% Peer evaluation (individual score).

 Determination final result

The result is calculated and communicated as a whole number on a scale of 20.

 

The group dimension will no longer be present during the exam resit. The student who failed, will receive an individual assignment to remedy a specific part of the paper.
