Transport Phenomena (B-KUL-H00D0B)
Aims
- Give students an understanding of conservation laws and constitutive equations as they apply to
convective and diffusive transport of mass, heat and momentum
- Enable students to solve simple diffusion, heat conduction and fluid flow problems using the transport
equations
- Teach students enough transport to be able to be conversant in the topic with other engineers.
Previous knowledge
Undergraduate level of analysis, differential calculus and the use of Laplace transforms to solve boundary value problems, basic understanding of thermodynamics. Basic understanding of metallurgical processes is useful to understand and analyse the exercises that are solved in class.
Is included in these courses of study
