Final Exam (B-KUL-G0R97A)

Aims
At the end of the Master of chemistry programme, the students demonstrate that they master the knowledge and competence of the entire programme in an integrated way.
The students are able to apply this knowledge and competence in coherent reasoning in a multidisciplinary context.
The students can apply this knowledge and competence to formulate a clear, correct and complete answer to a concrete, advanced chemical problem.
The students are able to critically compare and judge diverse analyses and solutions models for a given scientific problem.
Previous knowledge
The student has substantial fundamental knowledge of and insight in the most important subfields and a number of specialized topics of chemistry.

Content
This course is a test of the entire knowledge and competences acquired during the programme based on integrated examination questions. A detailed list of topics on which the examination questions will be based will be available.
Format: more information
The students are guided for the preparation of this exam in a limited number of contact moments which have to be prepared by solving a selection of model questions. During the contact hours, their solutions will be discussed and individual feedback is provided.
Evaluation
Evaluation: Final Exam (B-KUL-G2R97a)
Explanation
The examination is open book and consists of a number of integrated problems/questions, analogous to the assignments discussed during the contact hours. There are three categories of questions, each containing two questions consisting of different sub questions. Four out of these six questions must be answered with at least one question out of each category. Every question corresponds to an equal number of 5 marks. In order to pass, the sum of the marks for the four answered questions should be at least 10/20.
The course material that can be used during the open book exam will be made available via Toledo and will also be available in electronic format in the pc class during the exam.
