OC Geologie

The objective of the professional internship at home or abroad is to gain practical experience in the context of the companies involved and/or applied research, so that the student learns to apply the knowledge acquired in concrete cases, taking into account the social and economic conditions. This also allows the student to become acquainted with the professional practice of the geologist in an industrial or applied research environment and helps the student to further develop this professional image.

Additional objectives are practicing oral and written reporting, practicing social skills, working in a team, developing attitudes such as flexibility, stress management, organizational skills, being critical and result-orientated.

Students will acquire the following competences: the preparation of a work plan, making appointments and providing communication within a team, the oral and written presentation of results and dealing with aspects of safety and environment.

Upon commencement of the internship, the student is expected to have acquired sufficient knowledge in the domain where the internship will take place. The student has also already basic skills in the field of autonomous research and processing information, reporting, communicating scientific findings, as acquired in the Bachelor's program in geology
