Content
This course will treat selected topics of Eastern Canon Law, especially those that represent differences with Latin canon law. Therefore, a first part of the lectures will deal with the organisation of the several types of Eastern Churches sui iuris. The second part will concentrate on interecclesial/interritual questions occurring mainly by the presence of Eastern faithful in territories where the Latin church constitutes the majority. In this framework will be studied the canons on the ascription to a Church sui iuris, the pastoral care for these faithful, as well as the celebration of the sacraments, with special interest for the sacrament of marriage.
This course includes mainly guest lectures that will be taught by Prof. dr. Astrid Kaptijn who is an expert in the field of law of Eastern Catholic Church.
