Content
Several cases will be worked out:
- at the end of every day railway vehicles have to be moved to the place of departure for the next day;
- planning and scheduling of trains starting from origin-destination matrices
- location of repair shops for buses: where, how many shops, how many spare parts?
- routing of mailmen: planning, stock location of mail.Students have to analyse the problems, model them, find good solution procedures that yield realistic and feasible solutions. Afterwards these solution have to be presented with pros and cons.
