The student acquires knowledge and insight in advanced/modern drug delivery systems to target drugs to specific sites, tissues and cells in the body.

Content
The following drug delivery systems will be treated:
- liposomes and solid lipid nanoparticles
- polymer-drug conjugates
- dendrimers
- micellar systems
- antibody-based drug delivery systems
The following topics will be studied:
- structure and underlying physical chemistry
- manufacturing methodology
- what kind of drugs can be used
- stability (chemical, physical, biological)
- drug release kinetics
Course material
Copies of slides and recent scientific articles.

The student will have to prepare a paper that needs to be discussed during the exam. The process to the final product is coached. (Individual) coaching and tutoring sessions will be organized.
