French: Theory I A (B-KUL-HFT13C)
Aims
Students should
have knowledge and understanding of the morphological and syntactic system of French;
have knowledge and understanding of the social and geographical variation of French;
be able to label grammatical units and classes (noun, verb, etc.) and functions in the clause (subject, direct object, etc.);
be able to form grammatically correct sentences;
be able to produce semantically relevant communication based on language-specific grammatical building blocks.
Previous knowledge
The general admission requirements are described in the education and examination regulations.
The required prior knowledge is at the level of French end of humanities (ASO). In concrete terms, this means level B1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

- la linguistique en tant que discipline scientifique ;
- introduction à la morphologie (première partie) ;
- introduction à la syntaxe : la structure de la phrase simple (les classes grammaticales: première partie et les fonctions syntaxiques).
