Debating and Negotiation Skills Spanish (B-KUL-HCC14A)
Aims
Students should be able to understand authentic spoken sources in Spanish, speak fluently, and engage in debates by providing arguments and be able to evaluate communications of others. The exercises fall within the following CEFR domains: the professional and public domains.
Previous knowledge
Having active knowledge of 9000 words/collocations and morphology and morphosyntax that corresponds to level B2 of the European Frame of Reference.
The general admission criteria and strict prerequisites are described in the education and examination arrangements.

Content
Students are able to:
- understand and summarize authentic spoken sources related to business, both orally and in writing,
- engage in discussions, present arguments, refute counterarguments, pass the floor, keep the conversation going, assert their turn in speaking,
- generate small talk, conduct telephone conversations in a professional context, attend/chair meetings, conduct job interviews, receive and guide the press, explain a chart, introduce speakers, receive clients/guests, respond to unforeseen circumstances, deliver a presentation with and without digital support,
- evaluate a presentation using appropriate metalanguage,
Students are aware of intercultural differences in body language and various registers.
Students understand the differences between written and spoken discourse.
Students utilize AI to improve their productivity and the quality of their language activities; they are also aware of the limitations of tools like ChatGPT, New Bing, etc.
