Aims
The goal of the first part of the course is to make students aware of the diachronic relationships between different language stages, as well as the genetic affiliation and relatedness of the languages of Europe and beyond. The goal of the second part of the course is to make students aware of the range of variation of linguistic phenomena across the languages of Europe and beyond, as well as the different methods that may be used to describe and analyse this variation.
