Aims
Aims
- Introduction to graduate level research.
- Improve presentation skills (through the presentation of a recent working paper in the student’s field and through the presentation of the student’s own research).
- Prepare students to assess, evaluate and improve economic research (through the writing of a critical but balanced referee report).
- Improve the student’s writing skills.
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
- Better understand the nature of economic research.
- Understand how to write for a scientific audience.
- Assess and evaluate economic research.
- Improve the ability to present successfully.
The course is a mix of lectures (on presentation skills, writing a referee report and getting scientific work published), presentation sessions by students and feedback sessions.
