The student is able to reflect on and communicate about the theological significance of key Orthodox theologians. Students will know how the Orthodox theological method developed.
This course is required by the "Erkende instantie Orthodoxe godsdienst" for teachers of Orthodox religion. The course is taught by an Orthodox.

The student will acquire a knowledge of key concepts of Orthodox theology and liturgy through the reading and analysis of fundamental texts in order to understand the doctrine, ecclesiology and sacramentology of the Orthodox Church.

The course will focus on key concepts of Orthodox theology and liturgy: The notion of Tradition, Eucharistic Ecclesiology, Sanctification of Time and Life, Eschatology through the study of the works of major Orthodox theologicans such as G. Florovsky, N. Afanassieff, V. Lossky, A. Schmemann and J. Zizioulas.
