The PhD Programme in Economics is an advanced, four-year programme designed for students with a keen interest in developing solid research skills and insight in research development in the different domains of management and business studies.  

What is the 'Doctoral Programme in Economics' all about?

The programme trains future researchers in one of the key fields on business economics. 

The doctorate includes the final steps of the Doctoral programme in Economics and the research process:
-  Submission of the thesis manuscript
-  Approval of the thesis manuscript by the Doctoral Examining Committee
-  Public presentation and defense of the thesis

There is no application deadline for the Doctoral programmes.

KU Leuven uses an online application system. You can download and submit your application form via www.kuleuven.be/applicationStudents with a Flemish degree apply directly at the Faculty.

Tuition fee

The tuition fee for the current academic year is €461 for the first registration and the year of defence for all students.  There is no fee for in-between years.
