Aims

Independently understand a wide range of complex written and/or audiovisual source content in the foreign language.

2.1 Analyse literary (source) texts.

2.2 Handle the conventions and registers of text types and (translation) domains fluently and adapt those conventions to concrete content and needs in the target context.

2.3 Gain insight into genre traditions of the source and target cultures.

2.4 Handle an appropriate literary style and language variation.

2.5 Apply literary techniques and (style) resources in writing and translation.

3.1 Produce a literary target text in Dutch at the level of a professional native speaker.

4.2 Analyse a translation context, referring to theoretical models and insights from Translation Studies.

5.1 Employ an advanced knowledge of source and target culture in translation.

5.2 Recognise intercultural differences and deal with them appropriately when translating.
