Aims

2.1 Understand a wide range of source texts in Flemish Sign Language and summarise them.

2.2 Be able to describe a wide range of visual source material in Flemish Sign Language. 

2.3 Communicate adequately in Flemish Sign Language.

2.4 Use knowledge of the language functionally and creatively, using appropriate register.

3.1 Have knowledge and insight into the phonological, morphological and syntactic language system.

3.2 Have knowledge and understanding of socio-linguistic and regional language variation.

3.3 Apply knowledge of language system and language variation in interpreting language utterances.

8.1 Communicate adequately in Flemish Sign Language in a complex situation with attention to purpose, audience and medium.

9.1 Critically evaluate own language and communication. 

9.2 Correct own language and communication with attention to purpose, audience and medium.

      Explanation


       

      In principle, the assessment takes place during face-to-face language classes. The student’s receptive and productive language skills are assessed in all areas (including fluency, grammatical correctness, articulation, style, vocabulary) during various sorts of exercises and short and longer individual and group presentations. Class attendance and active participation during all contact hours and activities will be taken into account as well. If the student is absent, without valid reason, for five or more sessions, he/she cannot pass this course. If the student does not participate in a previously announced exercise or presentation with preparation, he/she cannot pass the course.
