Aims
4. Be familiar with the cultural and institutional context of the linguistic regions in question, while being aware of intercultural relations and differences, with a view to using this in interpreting communicative processes and language use.
4.1 Know about the history, culture and literature of the linguistic region.
4.2 Know about the geography, economy, politics, society and institutions of the linguistic region.
4.3 Individually research current events within the linguistic region, understand and critically assess current events.
4.4 Know about cultural unity and diversity in the linguistic region.
4.5 Situate the linguistic region in an international context.
Previous knowledge
Basic knowledge of English, as obtained at the end of secondary education, with an emphasis on receptive skills.
