Aims

Communicate orally in the language of training at the level of the professional language user.

Understand and apply the principles of verbal and non-verbal communication.

Communicate adequately orally in a complex situation with attention to purpose, audience and medium.

Evaluate oral language utterances of peers critically but respectfully according to objective parameters.

To have knowledge of the system of classical rhetoric

Apply the rhetorical techniques in speaking exercises such as presentations or debates

Evaluation: Dutch: Rhetoric and Speaking (B-KUL-YL7061)

Type : Continuous assessment without exam during the examination period
Description of evaluation : Presentation, Self assessment/Peer assessment, Participation during contact hours

Each student gives a presentation on an aspect of classical rhetoric (group work). In doing so, reasoned use of A.I. is permitted, but it must be stated. 

There is a written test on classical rhetoric. No aids are allowed therein.
