Aims
This course offers an introduction to the basic concepts and methods of general phonetics, phonology, morphology and syntax. The students are also introduced to the other main subfields of linguistics.

Content
1. An introduction to the basic concepts and methods of general phonetics, phonology, morphology and syntax. We use data from languages the students are (usually) not familiar with. The main aim is to be able to apply the methods to new, unfamiliar datasets.
2. An overview of the other subdisciplines of linguistics, based on a manual.
