The structure of the course is as follows:

LANGUAGE

9. Blessings and drawbacks of linguistic diversity [F. Van de Velde].

10. Language in space and boundaries [S. Marzo].

11. The indexicality of language [S. Marzo, L. Rosseel and F. Van de Velde].

Each academic year one or more debates, lectures or other events are organized of which every student attends at least one. At these events, various aspects of the course are framed within a  socially relevant and topical issue. The event is an essential part of the course and needs to be studied for the final exam.
