Modern Japanese II: Linguistics (B-KUL-F0TE3B)
Aims
- Acquire the Japanese grammar of the beginning intermediate level
- Acquire a vocabulary of ca. 2500 words
- To be able to write 200 new kanji and to apply them in 1000 new words (compound words, jukugo).
- properly apply the rules of honorific language and the socially accepted language register

Previous knowledge
The students who start Modern Japanese II must:
- be able to use a vocabulary of approximate 1400 words
- be able to read and write hiragana and katakana
- be able to read, write and understand approximately 300 kanji
- be able to read and understand approximately 500 kanji
- know and be able to apply the basic grammar
- know the basic rules concerning honorific language and register use
- Just for reference: Have attained the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Council of Europe)

Evaluation
Evaluation: Modern Japanese II: Linguistics (B-KUL-F2TE3b)
Explanation
The final result is the sum of grammar (14/20) and kanji (6/20)
The results of part 1 (=1st semester) count for 40% and the results of part 2 (=2nd semester) count for 60% of the final total.
For this course there is a zero tolerance. This means you cannot use the compensatory credit entitlement.
