This course intends to offer students models for the intensive critical reading of literary texts in their thick historical and ideological context. Ideally, after completing the course students should be able to offer historically informed and theoretically sophisticated readings of American literature in the English language from the 20th and the 21st century.
Being able to communicate about one's insights, either orally or through writing, in academically adequate and correct English corresponding to level C1. 

 

Students are familiar with English literature and concepts of narrative analysis and literary theory; students have initial skills in analysing literary texts; students have a decent level of English that allow them to fluently write and read texts and actively participate in discussions.
