The student acquires practical experience and insight into the profession of engineer by working in a startup. Go to www.techinvent.be  for more information about the possibilities.

Students can find the necessary study material on Toledo.

The start-up project is the most important part of the programme. For most students it is their first opportunity to apply their engineering theory and knowledge to solve a 'real' problem and interact with the engineering industry.

Evaluation

Evaluation: Start-up Project - Part 2 (B-KUL-T72221)

Type : Continuous assessment without exam during the examination period
Description of evaluation : Project/Product, Presentation, Self assessment/Peer assessment, Portfolio, Process evaluation

All students are evaluated on four categories of learning outcomes:

  • Business & management knowledge and skills
  • (Bio)technological innovation
  • Entrepreneurial spirit & personal development
  • Collaboration & networking

At the start of the innovation project the student decides (together with the coach) what the main focus of the project will be. This will determine the evaluation weights for the learning outcomes.

The evaluation of the project within the postgraduate TechInVenT consists of two components for each part of 22 credits:

  • Product evaluation (based on the outcomes of the project)
  • Process evaluation (based on the work and learning process, and the reflections in the ‘Self Scan’)

More information on the Toledo page of the programme.

A re-examination of (certain parts of) the project is only possible with the written permission of the coach and the head of programme.
