Thermal Systems: Basic Aspects (B-KUL-H9X52A)

Aims
Giving the students a good understanding of and thorough insight into all important facets of thermal systems. The aim is to thoroughly study, analyse and evaluate the operation and performance of refrigerators and thermal power plants on the one hand and the global behaviour of integrated thermal systems on the other, through among others pinch analysis and combined heat and power.
Previous knowledge
The course is open to students with a thorough knowledge of thermal engineering, such as Technical Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Turbomachinery. Knowledge of electrical energy is an advantage.
Is included in these courses of study
- Courses for Exchange Students Faculty of Engineering Science (Leuven)
