The course evolves around the topics of global imbalances and economic crises. It uses a mixture of data, historical case studies, and economic theory to understand the mechanisms behind economic imbalances and crises. The approach allows to draw broader lessons for the future, with implications for recognizing worrying developments and developing sound economic policy responses.

The main sections of the course are the following:

3. Currency Crises,

4. Sovereign Debt Crises

5. Financial Crises and Asset Price Bubbles
