Content
Each year this course is offered with a changing content consisting of capita selecta. Concerning the theoretical part, the students will get acquainted with the works of the most important Russian linguists. The practical part of the course aims to teach correct linguistic usage within various registers in contemporary Russian society. The following topics are dealt with: making contact and the development of a dialogue dependent on the register (the usage of jargonisms, neologisms, occasionalisms); some techniques of answering a general question; an assessment of a situation (spontaneous versus impersonal reaction to an announcement, indicating whether the listener has understood the situation rightly), clarification of tastes and impressions, etc.
