Content
The art history of Eastern Asia is highly determined by the aura of Chinese and Indian art, both with a history of over fourty ages. In this course the emphasis is on Chinese art history and its direct offshoots to Japan and Korea, without losing track of the Indian and Central-Asian sources of inspiration. Attention will be paid to technological innovations, characteristics of style and iconography, but also to the esthetics.
