Aims
In this course an attempt is made to understand the nature of philosophy, the kind of questions philosophers ask, the difference between philosophy and science, etc. This is achieved through a reflection on the way important philosophers have understood the philosophical project in the course of history.

Content
The course is not a survey of the history of philosophy, it seeks to introduce students to some of the fundamental questions philosophers have asked. Some of the themes dealt with: difference between mythical consciousness and philosophy, the origin of philosophy in ancient Greece, the nature of philosophical questions, a new beginning in Modern philosophy, philosophy and its history, etc.
Course Material
The course material consists of some texts of the philosophers studied in the course. A syllabus is also available.
