Starting conditions
Students who wish to undertake an intercultural internship within the framework of the CADES programme and would like this to count towards their final degree need to hand in an internship proposal to the internship commission by the 1st February of the academic year in which they will be graduating.
The proposal should include the following items:
- A completed “internship: request for approval form”.
- A motivation of 1 to 2 pages where the student needs to outline how the internship links in with the CADES programme. The proposal also needs to outline what track he/she will be taking, possibly a CV of the student and an accurate explanation of the work or research and the integration into the local community.
- Contact details and where possible a letter of invitation from the host institution
The internship must be a research intership that is recognised within the CADES programme and is part of the personal track of the student.
1. The proposal
- The subject of the research intership and the research paper has to be connected to the themes, questions and discussions that are central to the CADES programme.
- The student has to define and sharpen the research terms or internship objectives within the framework of the internship from the point of view of the culture of the host community. In addition to this, they also need to be part of an intercultural experience.
- The subject of the research must be connected to development strategies or –perspectives of the local community and/or the local culture.
- The internship needs to be clearly differentiated from a tourist holiday, whereby a student would travel in the ghost country with minimal intercultural engagement.
- The subject of the research or the internship has to be feasible.
- The preference goes to internships:
· That are within the framework of a students thesis research
· That will enable students more chances in the job market and strengthen his/her studies.
That is a completion of their chosen track within the CADES programme.
