Aims

The course aims to educate participants on a range of ethical subjects that currently are the focus of debate in genetics. Teaching will focus on the moral problems generated by the Human Genome Project as well as the ethical boundaries in the clinical application of new knowledge in, for example, genetic counselling, genetic screening, gene therapy, and cloning. The implications of scientific progress for the image of the human being as well as for modern culture will also be studied.

Previous knowledge

The students should have a basic knowledge of genetics and should be aware what the ethical concerns are in the field of genetics.

Content
