- To gain an insight in the basic features and concepts of christian liturgy and liturgical studies
- To acquire an understanding of the history of liturgy and more specifically, of the sacraments
- To study the principles and questions of general sacramentology and the meaning of the seven sacraments
Previous knowledge

Content
Possible topics include:
- history of liturgy
- Vatican II and liturgy; the preparation of the Liturgical Movement; 'Sacrosanctum Concilium'
- the liturgical year
- questions of general sacramentology
- history, theology and liturgy of the sacraments of christian initiation
- history, theology and liturgy of the sacraments of healing (reconciliation and anointing)
- meaning of the sacraments of vocation (mariage and holy orders)
- the liturgy of the hours
- Oriental liturgical rites
- liturgical space
