General Information

Students follow all courses of general obligation program and select it with a standard route a course 'Mathematics for Economists "or a research project with two preparatory courses" Higher Mathematics I "and" Higher Mathematics II. Students choose at least 33 credits from the optional part. This optional component provides the student the opportunity to focus to specialize. The courses are grouped into a number of 7 domains: Research Preparation, Business Economics, Economic History, Law, Public Management and Public Policy, Management and Policies of Health and Language. In total, the student have to take minimum 180 credits courses to achieve his Bachelor degree.
There is the Center for Educational Study and guidance provided by a large number of courses from the first study.-
General compulsory programme
Students choose a first stage for a process with 'D0T00A Mathematics for Economists' or a process with "D0H10A Higher Mathematics I 'and' D0H11A Higher Mathematics II", and then take all courses from the compulsory program.

Elective: 'Mathematics for Economists' or 'Advanced Mathematics (preparation for research)'
In phase 1 students select 1 of the routes in Mathematics described below. Students following the standard route take 'D0T00A Mathematics for Economists' and they supplement phase 1 with 6 credits from the electives. Students who want to prepare for research, opt for a more mathematical route. They select course 'D0H10A Advanced Mathematics I' in semester 1 of phase 1, and have to supplement the programme with 'D0H11A Advanced Mathematics II' for the electives.

Track with 'Mathematics for Economists'
In phase 1 students in this track take 'D0T00A Mathematics for Economists' and supplement phase 1 with 6 credits from the electives.

Track 'research preparation' with 'Advanced Mathematics'
Students who would like to prepare for a research track, select the more advanced mathematics. They opt for 'D0H10A Advanced Mathematics I' in semester 1 of phase 1, and have to select 'D0H11A Advanced Mathematics II' of the electives in semester 2 of phase 1 or phase 2.

Electives
Students supplement their programme with electives form the list below to a minimum of 180 credits. In order to guide students, the list is divided into different options. One can take courses out of more than one option offered below, or take all courses out of one option to prepare a switch to a specific Master programme. In a model trajectory, one can select 6 credits' worth of electives in the first phase, 18 credits' worth in the second phase and 21 credits' worth in the third phase.
The students can select courses which aren't listed below (from all the courses offered at KU Leuven), on condition that the student can motivate this selection with clear arguments which prove the link with the programme in Economics. The student has to submit his reasoned application to the study route advisor. The class schedules and required prior knowledge have to be taken into account.-
