The admission policy is intended to ensure equal opportunity of access to higher education for qualified European and third country students. In general the programme will assess students individually on the basis of their previous academic record, a letter of motivation and the availability of places.
Students should have a good command of English, both spoken and written. Applicants are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English, either by proving that some of their previous studies were successfully completed in English, or by submitting the results of a recognized language proficiency test, such as the TOEFL or another equivalent English test.

Elective Courses
A student selects elective courses for a total of 33 credits, preferentially from the list below.
The aim is to deepen the knowledge in technological domains. Students who want to broaden their knowledge can also select courses from related master programmes: master of engineering, mathematical engineering; master of engineering, computer science; master of bio-informatics; master of artificial intelligence; master of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The students can also select a course from other programmes from the Faculty of Engineering, or from the programmes of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven upon approval of the Permanent Education Committee.
