Prospective students of the Erasmus Mundus Master in   Adapted Physical Activity are evaluated by the EMMAPA Consortium Board. Each academic year, one week after closing the application deadline, the Consortium Board meets to evaluate applications and select the next year's class. Prospective students are evaluated according to common criteria set and agreed upon by all partner universities. Examination results, the project proposal, motivation letters and letters of recommendation will form part of the admission process. In general, the Consortium assesses students individually on the basis of their previous academic record. Applications without an official certificate of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS) will not be considered. (This stipulation is not applicable for native English-speakers.)

At the beginning of the academic year an assessment on research methodology will be organized for all students. If the assessment is passed, the 3 credits of the course "Research Methodology in Adapted Physical Activity" are awarded. If the assessment is failed, the course "Research Methodology in Adapted Physical Activity" becomes obligatory.
Officially this extra course is a preparatory programme for the Erasmus Mundus Master in Adapted Physical Activity. In any case, all students have to enroll for both the Preparatory Programme and the Erasmus Mundus Programme.
Students can intensively prepare for the assessment through the Electronic Assessment and Learning Platform to which they have access after subscription to the programme.
