Prerequisites

Students must have a good knowledge of English (either native or TOEFL standards: minimum 250 on computer based test). Besides the usual entry qualifications for university education in general (a high-quality secondary-level education, excellent reading and writing skills) and for cultural studies in particular (broad general knowledge, intellectual curiosity, knowledge of languages), the following are important indicators: - a historical consciousness and an open spirit of curiosity and intellectual wonder; - a strong interest in questions of meaning; - a capacity for abstract and conceptual thinking; - a reflexive and critical capacity concerning one's own presuppositions and problems formulated for oneself.

High school diploma + consideration of dossier Admission with advanced standing is possible. Individually tailored programmes of study can be drawn up on the basis of a student's file. All applicants should submit a complete dossier.

Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
This is a full-time, three-stage programme composed of 180 study points. The student should earn an average of 60 points per stage (54 to 66 points).

Electives
67 credits elective over the three programme stages. At least 40 credits must come from:
- Language Elementary Courses
- Non-Philosophical Electives
- the entire list of English language courses at K.U.Leuven (with permission of the relevant POC's)
At least 24 credits must be taken from Philosophical Electives. First stage BA students may not take electives from the list of Philosophical Electives. Second and third stage students may take all electives.
