After admission the following degrees have access to the Master of Educational Studies via the Preparatory Programme: Master of Educational Studies:
- Bachelor of Educational Sciences
- Bachelor in de pedagogische wetenschappen
- Bachelor of Psychology
- Bachelor of Social Sciences
- Another Master's degree or Bachelor's degree after preferably four stages of study.
The Preparatory Programme: Master of Educational Studies consists of two course units: Statistics and Academic writing. For each course unit, a compulsory test was organised for all enrolled students, at the beginning of the academic year in 2011. Students whose score was sufficiently high on these tests obtained an exemption for one or both course units.
The Preparatory Programme: Master of Educational Studies (being phased out) and the programme Master of Educational Studies (being phased out) can be followed simultaneously. Succeeding in the preparatory programme is mandatory for graduation in the Master of Educational Studies.
A proof of English proficiency is requested from all candidates. Only official TOEFL- or IELTS-test results are accepted. Minimal TOEFL score is 100 (internet based test), 250 (computer based test), or 600 (paper based test); minimal IELTS score: 7-7,5. Exemptions can be given to students coming from countries where English is the first official language.
Chinese students need an APS certificate.
No new enrolments admitted as from 2012-2013 for the programme below. New enrolments are possible for the reorganised programme Master of Educational Studies. You can find the programme and its admission requirements in the following brochure.

The Master of Educational Studies has been reformed. Students who were enrolled in this programme before 2012-2013 have until 2012-2013 to finish the programme. Those students who do not graduate in September 2013 have to enrol in the new programme and must comply with the new programme rules.
