Students are obliged to follow the core courses (94-96 ECTS depending on which course is selected in the topic ‘Regulation’) and to choose electives until at least 120 ECTS.
Students can only select the Master’s thesis if they select it simultaneously with the core courses or if they have already passed those courses.
Students have the option to follow electives at the partner universities UCLouvain and/or ULB. These courses can be recognised by the symbol “external” course, see legend.
Please note: students will have to enroll on time at the partner universities as an interuniversity student. Be aware that these universities have different deadlines and academic calendars than KU Leuven. For more information please see Toledo or consult the information page.
Overlap in content between selected electives is not allowed, students consult the specific information page to check possible overlap within the electives offered at the different institutions.
Students can find additional details about their study programme (the course options, information on transferring and redirecting) on the specific information page.-
Core
For a more gradual advancement of the quantitative component, ‘D0N56A Advanced Life Insurance Mathematics’, ‘D0N55A Data Science for Non-Life Insurance’ and ‘D0R58B Solvency of Financial Institutions’ can be postponed to the second programme phase. The student can take electives for a comparable amount of ECTS in the first programme phase to ensure a balanced programme.
