Genetics, Genetic Evolution Mechanisms and Genetic Nomenclature (B-KUL-I0D35A)

5.0 ECTS English 38.5 First termFirst term Introductory
POC Bioinformatics

Students are able to:
- Identify, synthesize and apply the principles of genetics
- Integrate other supporting disciplines (e.g. statistics) and other related knowledge (organic chemistry, biochemistry, cell physiology)
- Identify different subdivisions of genetics
- Independently solve simple genetic problems
- Recognise the social and ethical implications of genetics and can actively participate in discussion on these issues
- Synthesise, interpret and critically discuss genetic liturature
- Interpret new genetic information in a scientific context

Basic knowledge of organic chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, statistics and general biology is expected from students.
