Aims
Students are expected to be able critically to discuss the principles and key concepts of each of the major synoptic theories that will be studied and a apply these principles and concepts on a specific passage.
Previous knowledge
Biblical Greek (at least level 1b) and at least one BA/MA level course on Synoptic gospels.

Content
The Synoptic Problem: a critical study of three hypotheses (Two-Source, Two-Document, Farrer-Goulder). After a general introduction students will in turn present for discussion a number of texts from secondary literature that represent various positions on the question.
