Aims
Students are expected to acquire insight in modern models on the production, redaction, rewriting, and interpretation of the Pentateuch in the Persian, Hellenistic, and Early Roman periods.
Previous knowledge
Introductory course on OT. Introduction OT and NT and relevant courses from the Bachelor programme.
Content

Content
The focus will be on some narrative and legal materials from the Pentateuch, with the question how, according to modern models, these materials were written, re-written, and read from the Persian Period till the first centuries.
Course Material
Students will receive selections of essays and/or chapters from monographs.
Course activities
Students are expected to attend class, read the required literature as preparation, and contribute to class discussions.

Explanation
During the exam of maximally four hours, the student may use all the literature read or used in class. The exam will consist of three different kinds of questions, two of which have to be answered. The final grade is based on the evaluation of the exam. Unexcused absence from classes may result in subtraction of one point per unexcused absence from the final grade.
